After the structured class, we encourage you to stay and make the most of the remaining ice time for practice and enjoyment. We are committed to accommodating skaters of all levels, whether you're just starting with the basics or exploring more advanced techniques such as spinning and jumping.

*OUR Last Season's (2025) Winter SEMESTER OF ADULT  LEARN TO SKATE (LTS)
Ice skating is an activity that can awaken the child in all of us. Our adult curriculum is thoughtfully designed to promote physical fitness, improve balance and coordination, and teach proper skating techniques. These classes cater to a wide range of participants, from beginners to experienced skaters looking to refine their skills or prepare for skiing. This program is perfect for adults wanting to incorporate skating into a healthy, active lifestyle.

Participants will meet once a week during our Monday daytime Learn-to-Skate (LTS) session from 2:30-3:30 PM, alongside the Youth LTS Homeschool program. *Our Club
Skating Club of Jackson Hole or "SCJH" offers an interactive and safe skating experience for our students. All of our SCJH instructors are Safesport/Background check & cleared as well as registered through Learn To Skate USA or "LTS".  SCJH operates in the only indoor ice skating rink in Jackson Hole, WY. Located in The Snow King Sports and Event Center. SCJH is dedicated to providing quality instruction for children and adults of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and creeds. Skaters will learn the fundamentals of skating in a spirited, encouraging, supportive atmosphere.
*Our Adult LTS Class Requirements
SKATING REQUIREMENTS: Five Skaters are needed in order to run Adult Group. If five skaters do not enroll, you will be issued a Full reimbursement. All skaters signing up for Adult Group Class must be able to skate forward, unassisted, without holding the wall and feel comfortable maneuvering in a group setting/Open practice . Skaters should also be able to do a forward snowplow or hockey stop without help. Since the group class is a mixed level of adult skaters, the skating skills listed above is for your safety, and all other skaters. If classes need to be rescheduled due to unforeseen problems we will try to make it happen in the same week on a different public day.

-ADULT CLASS FAQ-

*Helmets and Head Protection:
prepare yourself  for the expected and unexpected. We recommend all skaters who are newer to skating to wear a CSA approved helmet OR hat. We have had adults and skaters purchase head protection hats and headband from here.

*Bring lots of layers-
Comfort and moving freely about are essential for skaters. Choose sweatpants or warm-up pants (tighter fitting) instead of bulkier snow pants. Bring a jacket too, since indoor rinks do set thermostats at a brisk 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
No heavy ski clothes as they prohibit movement and bending.

*Socks-
Thin over thick. Bulkier, thicker socks limit support and movement and create unwanted bumps inside the boots. Go with lightweight socks or thinner tights.

*Gloves-
Gloves are preferable to mittens as they provide articulation. Either way, mittens or gloves are suitable.

*Skates-

Skates can be rented from the rink. Skate rental is not included in SCJH class registration. If you wish to buy check out our skate swap, or drop us a email and we will help guide you where to purchase!

*Need Help Choosing A Private Coach-
Here is a list of our coaching staff or, we are here to HELP! Please contact us at: [email protected]
-Be Prepared / On Your First Day-
Be on time!  We operate out of The Snow King Event & Sports Center
1. Please Review our Policy & Guidelines

2. Arrive a good 15 minutes before class kicks off to check in with Lacey at the registration desk .

3. Lace up skates. Skates can be rented from the rink but rentals are not included in the group lesson pricing. Remember to only  walk on protective surfaces, NEVER WALK ON CONCRETE with skates (unless the blades have hard guards). Used Skates can  be purchased from the Facebook group (skating club of Jackson hole exchange) or we are happy to guide you in the process of  buying a new pair we can also help you get skates sharpened!
