Skating Club of JH
ASPIRE/ADVANCEDHoliday Show Policy It is important to carefully read and understand all the waivers during the registration process. Show Practices: We also understand that scheduling conflicts/sickness may happen but, we do ask and expect that skaters make it too as many practice as possible (the complete schedule is below)! The show practice schedule allows us to spend two practice on each group number. Your skater will be in opening, closing, first half group number & a second half group number (as well as their solo or duet). Skaters that miss back to back practice will be pulled from the group number since they will have missed all the choreography. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR PRACTICES ARE! This does not mean they will not be in the show, it just means that they will not be in that group number or in the same capacity of the group they missed. We always do our best to try to make it work but having so many skaters missing practices in the past has made it challenging. Please do your best to make it to as many practices as possible. |
Volunteering: ALL Aspire/Advanced Parents need to volunteer: To ensure our show runs smoothly, we have a mandatory request for one guardian to sign up for a volunteer slot on show day. In addition, the SCJH Show Board asks for your help with additional volunteer duties before the show. The volunteer sign-up is now live on our website. Also, if you’re not purchasing a table and plan to do general admission, please go to Active and purchase your Parent Two-Day Wristband. This wristband allows early access with your skater and ensures seating. As we anticipate a sold-out show, all parents will need either a ticket, wristband, or be actively volunteering (e.g., working a booth or raffle table table). Be sure to purchase your discount wristband soon!
Duets/Solos: Upon being awarded a solo (for Advanced skaters) or duet/trio (for Aspire), parents will need to contact, book, and pay for private lessons with the coach assigned to that performance. The SCJH Director will pair duet skaters and provide all skaters with their music. Due to several late sign-ups this year, duets will not be announced until next week, and music will be distributed the following week. This is part of the reason I stress so hard on early sign-up's. |
