-ABOUT THE ASPIRE PROGRAM:
ASPIRE is a revised version of the bridge program, the U.S. FIGURE SKATING ASPIRE PROGRAM helps beginning Figure skaters make the transition from learn to skate group classes into U.S. Figure Skating membership. If your skater has passed basic  6 level and wants more these classes are for them!

Aspire Class is a group class designed to help the graduates of the Basic Skills program (basic 6), as well as more advanced Basic Skills skaters, "bridge" the gap between Basic Skills and Advanced/Private lessons. This level is designed to give skaters a strong foundation and it is at this point the skater can choose to pursue a recreational or competitive approach to the sport of figure skating as they move into our Advanced Academy. We will be focusing on skill building as well as recognizing character development. Aspire athlete and the words that represent teaches skaters: Attitude, Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Integrity, Respect and Effort.
-More About Your *NEW* Aspire Program:
Skaters meet twice a week for on ice group instruction every Tuesdays and Thursdays from. Each class time is divided into three sections: skating skills, spins and jumps.  As a part of your tuition your skater can enjoy:

Practice time before group class from 3:40-4:00pm (Joint with LTS)
Off -Ice Stretching from 4:05-4:25
Practice Time from 4:30-5:00pm (only Aspire on the ice)
Aspire group class 5:00-5:30 (only Aspire on the ice)

In addition/included in your package we will be offering Sunday Freestyle sessions Oct-December from 2:00-3:00pm. Starting in January Aspire/Advanced Sunday freestyle session will move to 3:30-4:30pm.  Private lessons can be given during these times (all non-group lesson times), please book and pay for the private lessons directly with the coach. If you are wishing for your skater to have additional ice you can pay for a Weekday Open Club freestyle (that is new this year). Weekday Freestyle will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-3:40pm.

If your Aspire skater is wishing to be in the Holiday show their practices will begin 9/2/25. To learn more about the holiday show click HERE.

Please check out the club calendar for more info on the times. If you have further questions please review the FAQ section below or reach out through submitting a email card below.
-Brief Policy/ Refund Disclaimer:

In this paragraph, we will discuss the key topics regarding SCJH's policy and waivers, which are a part of the registration process. As a valued member of our community and program, SCJH expects skaters and parents to demonstrate humanity, kindness, empathy, and respect. We have a zero-tolerance policy for racism, discrimination, harassment, or hate in any form. SCJH reserves the right to refuse service to skaters or parents who do not adhere to the club's protocols and policies. As a friendly reminder that all tuition payments and previous balances must be settled in full before the commencement of the semester.  In addition:  It is important to carefully read and understand all the waivers during the registration process. While SCJH strives to accommodate changes and understands that life can be unpredictable, please note that we do not issue refunds. We will communicate any updates or changes via email, so please ensure that you provide us with your correct email address for effective communication.

-FAQ:

*What Level Is Aspire?
Aspire Is for skaters who have passed Basic 6.  The group class will work on Basic 7 - Freestyle 4 level.

*What is Open Practice/Freestyle?
This is the time where the skater will practice the moves they have been working on during group.  Skaters can take a private lesson during this time as well.  Please book and pay for all privates directly through your coach. Addition freestyle ice can be found HERE

* Lockers?
Aspire Skaters can add a season locker rental to their package. As a reminder we are asking that aspire skaters share a locker this season. Please add your locker mate at check out (or we will select one for you at the start of the season). If you do not get a locker mate provided by the club you will be asked to pay for the balance of the locker.

*What Does my skaters wear?
Comfort and moving freely about are essential for Aspire skaters. Choose tight skating pants or stretch leggings instead of bulkier snow pants (wide leg pants are easy to catch a toe pick in) or jeans. Bring a jacket & tight fitting zippy underneath too. Indoor rinks do set thermostats at a brisk 50 degrees Fahrenheit. No heavy ski clothes as they prohibit movement and bending! Please bring gloves & a water Bottle to every class! Skaters should also have hair pulled back in a tight pony-tail (out of face).

*Is my skater ready for Shows?
Yes! most all the Aspire and Advanced skaters do the Holiday Show practice's start early in the season and run Sundays (and some Fridays) till the Show date (Not during Tuesday's &Thursdays). Aspire skaters will get a Duo or Trio in the holiday show (music and partner are picked by show director). SCJH's spring show does run a bit different. Aspire and Advanced skater do not meet on Sundays for practice instead they get to work with their coach on doing a solo or duet in the more laid back approach (There is no Group numbers for Aspire and Advanced in the spring show). Please talk with the skating director or your coach about this!

*Is my Skater ready for Competition:
Once your skater moves up to the Aspire level they may start to think about competition. This is a great time for skaters to start working on small programs if they wish to! Skater normally start working on routines so they can have time to practice them to feel comftorable competing. Competition Normally start happening in last January and continue through March. If your skater isn't wishing to compete that is OK too! The best way to start this process is to reach out to the skating Director or talk to your coach if you have one already!

*Why the price ?
Here are few things to keep in mind: First, SCJH does supplement the each ASPIRE by $1,055 through fundraising and donations. SCJH is paying more for ice and coaching this season. We also understand it's a huge jump from LTS pricing but note; Aspire group has fewer skaters in the whole program (around 15). Your skater will gets longer group lessons as well as longer practice time.  We do have scholarships available. Please reach out with questions you may have.
